AGENT: Awareness Game Environment for Natural Training
We propose AGENT, the Awareness Game Environment for Natural Training, as a virtual environment in which serious games can be enacted. AGENT combines research on interactive storytelling, game design, turn-taking and social signal processing with a multi-modal UI in a modular fashion. Current work in progress will deliver a first demonstrable prototype within 2013.
متن کاملAction video game training for cognitive enhancement
Here we review the literature examining the perceptual, attentional, and cognitive benefits of playing one sub-type of video games known as ‘action video games,’ as well as the mechanistic underpinnings of these behavioral effects. We then outline evidence indicating the potential usefulness of these commercial off-the-shelf games for practical, real-world applications such as rehabilitation or...
متن کاملReinforcement Learning with Unsupervised Auxiliary Tasks
Deep reinforcement learning agents have achieved state-of-the-art results by directly maximising cumulative reward. However, environments contain a much wider variety of possible training signals. In this paper, we introduce an agent that also maximises many other pseudo-reward functions simultaneously by reinforcement learning. All of these tasks share a common representation that, like unsupe...
متن کاملFurther Optimising Online FPS Game Server Discovery
This paper proposes several improvements to a proposed game server discovery algorithm based on clustering servers by origin Autonomous System (AS). Following a brief overview of current game server discovery processes, the algorithms on which this paper is based are outlined. Using Valve's Counterstrike:Source game and datasets employed in the previous algorithm's paper, several improvements t...
متن کاملFPS Game Performance in Wi-Fi Networks
Multi-player online games (MOGs) have become increasingly popular on today’s Internet. Meanwhile, the IEEE 802.11 (Wi-Fi) wireless networks have been widely used. We study how well an underlying 802.11g network supports a first-person-shooter (FPS) game, often considered the most demanding MOG in terms of network performance. We measure the latency and loss ratio performance experienced by the ...
